About Me
Movin' on up! I have been a volunteer and steering committee member for the Twin Cities Race for the Cure for 7 or 8 years. Most of my work in the past was during race week and was all about setting-up, tearing down and clean up... the grunt work.

This year, I have been working on some social media strategy and tactics for the Minnesota Komen affiliate. I hope this work can prove valuable to the organization and those who are immersed in breast health issues. (Of course, I'll be out there doing the grunt work again this year, too.)

Please let me know how you'd like this site to improve.

One more thing...

For those who have been on this site for a while, I changed the "blog" tab to "stories." Am I the only one that things that "blog" is just a horrible word?

Ultimately, our stories are blog posts. But stories feel more personal... more normal... less techie.

W00t! My mom joined.

Was glad to see that my mom joined this site. See Mom... I didn't turn out to be SO bad.

Well y'all... now is where the tough part begins. Twin Cities Race for the Cure '09 is in the rear view mirror. Mother's Day 2010 is a long way away. This is where the tough part begins.

I say it's the tough part because unless you or someone in your family is dealing with treatments and appointments today, our cause becomes less top-of-mind. I hope that Together for the Cure can help keep the momentum tha… Continue

"Scared and feel like crying."

This week, I was privileged to exchange messages with a newer member of the Twin Cities Race of for the Cure Facebook Group. Let's call her "Amy. " Amy and I exchanged a message or two before she began to explain her motivation for joining the group.

She was preparing to go in for a surgical consultation about some cysts. Amy was hopeful that they are nothing. Nonetheless, she is stepping into the front end… Continue

Steering Committee Meeting this week.

The Twin Cities Race for the Cure Steering Committee met earlier this week. WHEW! There always so much to go over.

There are WAY too many cool progress notes to mention them all. Here are a couple of highlights:

- We met with Mother Nature, the weather is going to be pristine. By pristine, I mean that it will either be bright and sunny or cold and rainy. Either way, we are going to have a great time. Please note the operative word here is "WE." It means you have to show up.

Why are we Together for the Cure?

We don't have any shortage of social networks in our world. That's for sure. However, I think we have something special in common - something that warrants our own space.

Each of us have stories about breast health or breast cancer. We are patients. We know of patients. We have seen wins and losses. They are our friends and they are family members. Our passion builds awareness. Our passion educates. Our passion promotes early detection. Our passion together will deliver a cure.

The stories pil… Continue

Hey Cam,

Header looks good. Just needs the runners. Maybe my graphics are not set up correctly? I am going to call tomorrow around the 5:00 PM area if that works. I have to work late and it will be the best time to call and bang out some details. Are you free at that time?

Thanks!
